Uptilt Films believe women have fascinating stories to tell! Women make up 52% of characters on film, but only 17% of writers for these characters are female. They shine a light on short films that are written and/or directed by women or gender-nonconforming folks who identify with womanhood.
The festival is 100% volunteer-based. All proceeds go towards grants, awards for filmmakers and the festival.
The 3-day festival in Wilmington, NC showcases short format films of all genres from all over the world! Films must be written and/or directed by a female or gender-nonconforming person OR 50% of the following positions must be female/gender-non-conforming: writer, director, cinematographer, editor.

The shows take place from March 21-23.
