Wilmington, NC - On Friday, August 24, The Dave Matthews Tribute Band headlined the Downtown Sundown Concert Series. Despite the rain, this concert raised $350 through the charity wristband program for the Jo Ann Carter Harrelson Center. The Harrelson Center is a nonprofit center that supports and partners with other nonprofit organizations in the Wilmington community. The Center provides below-market rental rates, free utilities and educational opportunities for its partners.

"The Harrelson Center was proud to partner with WDI to help promote our wonderful city, have a little fun and make a huge difference for people in need in our community," says Vicki Dull, Executive Director of the Harrelson Center.

The center works with its partners to meet the needs of the community, such as affordable housing, education, employment, health care and family support. The center recognizes people's urgent needs in life and encourages, uplifts, and assists them in rebuilding their lives through the many services provided at the center.

The Downtown Sundown Concert Series is coordinated by Wilmington Downtown, Inc. (WDI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the economic growth and development of downtown Wilmington. Wristbands are sold for $1 per person at each concert to those drinking alcohol. The charity wristband program entitles a different organization to half of the proceeds from wristband sales up to $1,000 each week.
